If at any point you are no longer eligible to receive this funding, you will be required to pay any remaining fees.
To apply for a place at our pre-school, please contact the main school office to obtain a pre-school application form. Once completed, please bring a copy of your child’s passport and proof of address to the main school office with your application form.
Please note: the offer of a pre-school place does not guarantee the offer of a place in Reception.
Reception admissions
Portsmouth City Council co-ordinate all admissions to the Reception class at Beacon View Primary Academy. Please note Beacon View Primary Academy is a one form admissions school with 30 places.
Transfer from Beacon View Primary Academy pre-school to Reception is not automatic. Children who attend our pre-school are still required to apply for a Reception place at the school through the Local Authority.
We welcome children from a range of nursery schools, other settings or from home.

In year transfers
In-year transfers are when a child joins Beacon View Primary Academy during the school year. All In-year transfers are handled by Portsmouth City Council. To apply, please follow the instructions on the Portsmouth City Council website.
Appeals
Parents whose application for a place is unsuccessful have the right to appeal the decision. Appeals are managed directly through Portsmouth City Council.
If you have not been offered a place at your preferred schools, you will be added to the waiting list and asked to confirm whether you wish to remain on the waiting list. If you do not respond to this request by the date stated in your offer information, your child's name will be removed from the list.
If you have been refused a place at your preferred school(s), you have the right to appeal to an independent panel. You can only appeal if you have applied for the school and received notification that you have not been offered a place. You need to lodge your appeal by the deadline in your offer information.
For further information on the appeals process, please visit: www.portsmouth.gov.uk/services/schools-learning-and-childcare/schools/admissions/waiting-list-and-appeals-for-a-school-place/ or you can contact the Admissions team by email at admissions@portsmouthcc.gov.uk .
